Use Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) to install sleeve bearings (26) in grapple housing (10). Install sleeve bearing (26) with gaps on both ends of the sleeve bearing that are equal to Dimension (E). Install lip seals (27) .

Lower the temperature of bushings (25) and use Tooling (D) and a suitable press to install bushings (25) in push bars (14). Install bushings (25) with gaps on both ends of the bushings that are equal to Dimension (F). Install lip seals (24) .

Apply Tooling (G) to pin (23) .
Position first push bar (14) in the mounting location on shell (1). Install pin (23) far enough in order to hold the first push bar in position.
Position the second push bar in the remaining mounting location on shell (1) and install cover (19) between the two push bars.
Install plate (22) and washer (21) .
Apply Tooling (H) to bolt (20). Install bolt (20) in pin (23). Tighten bolt (20) to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).

Use the machine to position grapple housing (10) on the mounting locations on shell (1). Carefully guide push bars (14) into grapple housing (10) as you mount the grapple housing on shell (1) .Note: If necessary, use the machine to adjust the weight of grapple housing (10) in order to reduce tension on pin (18) .
Apply Tooling (G) to pin (18) .
Use Tooling (C) to install pin (18) in the mounting location on shell (1) and in grapple housing (10). Install plate (17) and washer (16) on pin (18) .
Apply Tooling (H) to bolt (15). Install bolt (15) in pin (18). Tighten bolt (15) to a torque of 240 40 N m (177 30 lb ft).
Repeat Step 9 for the pin on the other side of shell (1) .

Install pin (8) for lifting purposes. Install pin (8) in mounting location (3). Install plate (7), washer (6), and bolt (5) .

Use a suitable lifting device and pin (8) to align the mounting locations in shell (9) with the mounting locations on grapple housing (10). Refer to Table 2 for the correct weight of the shell.
