Location of new components in air cleaner groups. Use the procedure that follows to install the new air cleaner components to ensure the best alignment and least stress on the air cleaner housings.
1. Attach bracket assemblies (4) and (5) to the air cleaner housings with bolts (1) and washers (2). Do NOT tighten the bolts at this time.2. Install the hoses that connect the turbochargers to the air cleaner housings on the turbochargers. Do NOT tighten hose clamps at this time.3. Put the air cleaner and bracket assemblies in position on the flywheel housing. Do NOT tighten the bolts at this time. Position the outlet of the air cleaner housing in the hose to the turbocharger. Do NOT tighten clamps at this time.4. Attach support assembly (3) on the air cleaner housings with bolts (1) and washers (2). Also, install the bolts that fastens the support assembly to the exhaust elbow. Do NOT tighten the bolts at this time.5. Tighten bolts (1) that fasten support assembly (3) to both air cleaner housings. Tighten the bolts that fasten the support assembly to the exhaust elbow.6. Tighten bolts (1) that fasten bracket assemblies (4) and (5) to both air cleaner housings.7. Tighten the bolts that fasten bracket assemblies (4) and (5) to the flywheel housing.8. Tighten the hose clamps on the hoses between the air cleaner housings and the turbochargers.
