The new seal rings have grooves in the sides of the rings to increase cooling oil flow to the sealing surfaces. The former seal rings did not have the oil grooves. The new seal rings will provide increased service life.
Adaptable To: The new 6Y5800 Torque Converter Group is a direct replacement for the former 9W1563 Torque Converter Group in 992C Loaders. The former torque converter group is canceled. The improved 9W1562 Torque Converter Group is used in 834B Loaders. The improved components are in effect with torque converter serial numbers 84T309 (834B) and 75T2615 (992C). The new and/or improved torque converter groups are adaptable to all earlier 834B Tractors and 992C Loaders with variable capacity torque converters. The new components shown in the chart, when used together, are adaptable to the former 9W1563 Torque Converter Group and to the earlier 9W1562 Torque Converter Group, torque converter serial numbers 84T1-84T308. The former 8P8953 and 7G2317 Carrier Assemblies can be reworked, as shown in Illustrations 2 through 5, to the same configuration as the new 6Y4576 and 6Y4573 Carrier Assemblies.
The reworked ring groove on the 7G2317 Stator Carrier Assembly, see Illustration 2, should be checked for cracks by the magnetic particle method on a "wet" type machine. If cracks are present after the rework, the carrier should not be used. Before installing the 6Y5790 Ring on the carrier assembly, carefully check the ends of the ring for burrs. In operation, the ring may rotate slowly on the carrier, and a burr could cause excessive wear in the ring groove.
