Schematics for LH and RH (2-Button, Slide, Trigger Switch) JoysticksThis diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM reads the voltage of the circuit for the PWM thumb wheel on either joystick as being above normal.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The harness is shorted.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.Note: Other diagnostic codes for the switches on the joystick may occur if the machine configuration is not correct for the installed joysticks. Ensure that the machine configuration is correct.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear the diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected.Note: Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 1132 FMI 03 is active before performing this procedure.Test Step 1. CHECK FOR POWER AT THE THUMB WHEEL
Do not disconnect the harness connector from the joystick.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the ON position.
At the harness connector for the right joystick and the left joystick, measure the voltage from contact 1 to contact 2. Use the 7X-1710 Multimeter Probes .Expected Result:The voltage is the 12 DCV system voltage.Results:
OK - The voltage is the 12 DCV system voltage. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - The voltage is not 12 DCV. The + battery circuit in the machine harness has failed.Repair: Replace the machine harness or repair the machine harness. Stop.Test Step 2. CHECK FOR PROPER GROUND AT THE THUMB WHEEL
The machine harness remains connected to the joystick.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
At the harness connector for the left joystick and the right joystick, measure the resistance from contact 2 to frame ground. Use the 7X-1710 Multimeter Probe .Expected Result:The resistance is less than 5 ohms.Results:
OK - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. The ground circuit is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The ground circuit in the machine harness for the left joystick or the right joystick has failed.Repair: Replace the machine harness or repair the machine harness. Stop.Test Step 3. CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS OF THE THUMB WHEEL FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT
The key start switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the joystick.
At the harness connectors for the left joystick and the right joystick, connect a jumper wire between contact 2 and contact 3 for each connector.
Disconnect the machine harness connectors J1 and J2 from the machine ECM.
At
