Schematic Of The Rotor Clutch Solenoids This diagnostic code is recorded when the ECM reads the current of the solenoid circuit as above normal (short to ground). The results of this diagnostic code are:
A category 2 warning is showing on the Computerized Monitoring System.
A diagnostic code affecting the rotor brake solenoid will not allow the rotor brake to engage. The possible causes for this diagnostic code are:
The energize circuit (705-PK) of the solenoid is shorted to ground.
Solenoid is faulty.
ECM is faulty (unlikely). Service Note: Ensure that the diagnostic code CID 057 FMI F06 is on-hold and that the diagnostic code (fault) present indicator is ON (diagnostic code present). This procedure can cause new diagnostic codes to be recorded. Ignore these created diagnostic codes. When the procedure is completed, clear the created diagnostic codes.
Check Solenoid.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Ensure that the CID 057 FMI F06 diagnostic code is on-hold.
Observe the status of the diagnostic code present indicator.
Disconnect the machine harness from the solenoid. Expected Result: The diagnostic code (fault) indicator changes to NOT showing when the solenoid is disconnected.Results:
YES - The circuit is correct. The solenoid is faulty. Repeat this step (Step 1) to verify the solenoid failure. Replace the solenoid. STOP.
NO - The diagnostic code remains. Proceed to next step.
Check Solenoid Energize Circuit For Short To Ground.
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the solenoid.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the ECM.
At machine harness connector for the ECM, measure the resistance from contact 37 (705-PK) to all possible sources of ground. The possible ground sources are contacts 2 and 39 and 200-BK. Expected Result: The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms.Results:
YES - The machine harness is correct. Proceed to next step.
NO - There is a short in the machine harness. The short is between wire 705-PK and the circuit with low resistance measurement. Repair or replace the machine harness. STOP.
Check Rotor Speed Switch
Gain access to the contacts on the switch.
Check for continuity from contact 1 (wire 705-PK) to the other appropriate contacts on the switch. Use illustration 1 as a reference to determine which contacts should have continuity. Expected Result: The switch functions properly.Results:
YES - The switch functions properly. Go to the next step.
NO - In one or more positions of the switch, wire 705-PK does not have continuity to the appropriate contacts on the switch. Replace the switch. STOP.
Check If Diagnostic Code Remains.
Clean the contacts of the harness connectors.
Reconnect all harness connections.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Enter service mode of the ECM and clear all inactive diagnostic codes.
Operate the machine.
Check to see if CID 057 FMI F06 diagnostic code is present. Expected Result: The CID 057 FMI F06 diagnostic code present.Results:
YES - The diagnostic code has not been corrected. It is unlikely that the ECM is faulty. Perform the previous Steps again. If the cause of the diagnostic code is not found, replace the ECM. See Testing And Adjusting, "Electronic
