Install O-ring seals (20) and (21) to transmission (18). Apply clean oil on O-ring seals (20) and (21) .

Use a hoist and suitable lifting chains to carefully connect output transfer gears (19) to transmission (18). Make sure that O-ring seals (20) and (21) are not damaged during the connection. The weight of the output transfer gears is 525 kg (1160 lb).
Place two wood blocks (2) under the output transfer gears, as shown.

Install eighteen bolts (16) and the washers. Install two bolts (15) and the washers. Tighten bolts (15) and (16) to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft).

Remove Tooling (D) from the output transfer gears.

Use a hoist and a suitable lifting sling to install steering pump (9), transmission pump (10) and brake pump (11) to the torque converter, as shown. The weight of the three pumps as a unit is 80 kg (176 lb).
Install three bolts (14) and the washers.
Remove the hoist and the sling from steering pump (9) and brake pump (11) .

Connect hose assembly (13) to transmission pump (10) .

Install two tube assemblies (12) as a unit to steering pump (9) and brake pump (11) .
Install tube assembly (6) on transmission pump (10) .

Connect wire harness (7) at the electrical connection. Install bolt (8) and the washer that holds wire harness (7) in position.

Install four bolts (5) and the washers to tube assembly (6) and transmission magnetic screen (4) .
Connect hose assembly (3) to the transmission.

Remove Tooling (C) from the transmission.

Attach Tooling (A) to the engine and the output transfer gears, as shown. Attach a hoist and suitable lifting chains to Tooling (A) .
Use the hoist to lift the engine, the torque converter, the transmission and the output transfer gears from Tooling (B) and two wood blocks (2) .
Remove the two stands that are located under the flywheel housing. Carefully lower the complete unit on the two remaining stands of Tooling (B) and two wood blocks (2). The weight of the complete unit is 3630 kg (8000 lb).

Install two tube assemblies (1) as a unit to the engine and the transfer case.End By: Install the engine, the torque converter, the transmission and the output transfer gears.
