950B, 950E, 966D, 966E LoadersWhen servicing the 3T0689 Relay Assembly (engine stop relay) and/or the 9G1928 Relay Assembly (engine start protection/service meter relay), put 8T9020 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease in the relay sockets and around the relay terminals. This will help prevent corrosion and increase the reliability of the relay connections.
If the relay sockets are dirty or corroded, clean them with a stiff bristle brush and alcohol. Then dry them with compressed air. If the corrosion is severe, the sockets should be replaced by installing a new harness (the sockets are not serviced separately).
Before installing the relays, inject the 8T9020 Dielectric Tune-Up Grease in each relay socket. This fills the air voids and will help prevent corrosion from starting. Install each relay in each socket forcing the grease around the terminals and out the sides of the relay. Wipe grease flush with the sides of the relay.
