Left front drive pump reverse control solenoid circuitThis diagnostic code is associated with the left front drive pump reverse control solenoid (all wheel drive). The FMI 13 diagnostic code is activated when the all wheel drive (AWD) ECM detects the left front drive pump reverse solenoid that needs calibration. Once the calibration for the left front drive pump reverse solenoid has been performed successfully, this diagnostic code will disappear. This failure is active on a new ECM.Possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The ECM has been replaced or new software has been installed.

AWD will not operate.Note: Ensure that you have repaired any condition that would cause other active diagnostic codes that are related to this solenoid. If the other diagnostic codes are active, troubleshoot those codes first. Then perform this procedure.Note: Ensure that the CID 2296 FMI 13 diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure.Test Step 1. CHECK THE CALIBRATION
Perform the necessary adjustment and calibration procedures. Perform the calibration with Cat ET. See the Testing and Adjusting Section of the Service Manual for these procedures.
Observe the status of the CID 2296 FMI 13.Expected Result:CID 2296 FMI 13 is active.Results:
OK - CID 2296 FMI 13 is active.Repair: Verify that the correct software has been flashed into the ECM, or that the correct ECM is installed on the machine. Then repeat the calibration.If the diagnostic code remains active and no cause is found, the ECM may have failed. However, ECM failure is unlikely. Contact the Technical Communicator at your Cat® dealer. If ECM replacement is required, see Troubleshooting, "Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Replace".STOP
NOT OK - CID 2296 FMI 13 is not active. The calibration corrected the condition that caused the diagnostic code. Repair: Resume normal operation.STOP
