Disassembly Procedure
Start By:a. Remove the diesel exhaust fluid module.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Disconnect harness assembly (1) and remove solenoid valve assembly (2).

Remove relays (3).

Remove bolts (4). Remove control module (5).

Disconnect harness assembly (8). Remove cable straps (7) and electronic control (6).

Remove cover (9).

Remove expansion device (10).

Remove cable straps (13), bolts (14), and bracket (12).

Disconnect harness assembly (15). Reposition harness assembly (15) to avoid interference in the disassembly procedure.

Remove bolts (16). Separate support assembly (17) from pump (18).

Remove cable straps (20) and harness assembly (19).
Illustration 12 g06049824Note: Place identification mark on DEF pump coolant connectors (21) and DEF pump connectors (22) for installation purposes. DEF pump coolant connectors (21) and DEF pump connectors (22) are not interchangeable.
Remove DEF pump coolant connectors (21) and DEF pump connectors (22). Remove the O-ring seals.
