Battery Disconnect Delay Film
Do not turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position until the Wait to Disconnect lamp is no longer illuminated. If the switch is turned to the OFF position when the lamp is illuminated, then the DEF system will not purge. DEF could freeze and cause damage to the pump and lines if not purged from the system.
The "Battery Disconnect Delay" film is located next to the Wait to Disconnect lamp. This film instructs the operator to turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position when the Wait to Disconnect lamp is no longer illuminated.Turn battery disconnect switch (1) to the OFF position by turning counter-clockwise. Lock the switch in the OFF position by securing padlock (2) through the holes at the left-hand side of the switch.Turn the battery disconnect switch OFF and secure with a padlock when you exit the machine overnight or when you exit the machine for an extended period. Also, turn the battery disconnect switch OFF and secure with a padlock when you service the electrical system.
Never move the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position while the engine is operating. Serious damage to the electrical system could result.

To ensure no damage to the engine occurs, verify that the engine is fully operational before cranking the engine. Do not crank an engine that is not fully operational.
Perform the following procedure to check the battery disconnect system.
With the battery disconnect switch in the ON position, verify that electrical components in the operator compartment are functioning. Verify that the hour meter is displaying information. Verify that the engine will crank.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Verify that the following items are not functioning: electrical components in the operator compartment, hour meter, and engine cranking, If any of the items continue to function with the battery disconnect switch in the OFF position, contact your Cat dealer.
