Fuel transfer pump (A) Inlet (B) Outlet (1) Fuel transfer pump (2) O-ring sealThe position of the fuel inlet and the fuel outlet can be rotated in order to accommodate different applications. The position of the fuel inlet or the fuel outlet may affect the length of fuel hose that is required. Use lengths of 5P-1420 Hose as required.Later fuel transfer pumps do not have the manual priming lever. A hand priming pump must be installed on the fuel filter base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Filter Base - Assemble" for additional information.Note: When the fuel transfer pump is installed on the engine, ensure that the camshaft is on minimum lobe lift and that the bolts are evenly tightened. Failure to follow this procedure can cause the loss of maximum engine power and damage to the fuel transfer pump.
