A 222-3116 Dry Film Lubricant 1 Note: This procedure can be used to install the paddle handle assemblies and the door latch assemblies on either cab door.Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
Inspect all of the components for wear and replace the components, if necessary.

Make sure that the steel pivot is well lubricated by rotating the lever handle and by lifting the handle. If the mechanism does not rotate freely, apply Tooling (A) to the steel pivot. Note: In order to reduce the buildup of dust and contaminants on the mechanism, oil based lubricants and grease should not be used to lubricate paddle handle assembly (7).
Before installation, lock paddle handle assembly (7). Note: In order to install door latch assembly (2) properly, paddle handle assembly (7) must be placed in the locked position. Make sure that the handle does not move before you install paddle handle assembly (7).
Use bolts (5) and brackets (6) in order to install paddle handle assembly (7) into the cab door.
Use locking bolts (3) and bolts (4) in order to install door latch assembly (2) into the cab door, as shown.
The following procedure is used to adjust door latch assembly (2):
Illustration 2 g00525835Note: Before adjusting door latch assembly (2), unlock paddle handle assembly (7).
Slowly close the cab door. Verify that striker (9) is vertically centered in door latch assembly (2). If it is necessary, adjust the striker by adding or removing shims (8). Note: Make sure that the striker engages the latch jaws smoothly. As the cab door is being closed, make sure that the cab door does not shift upward or shift downward. Make sure that the striker does not interfere with the latch jaws or the latch case.
After the striker is vertically centered, close the cab door and verify that the latch jaws are fully engaged around the striker. If it is necessary, adjust the striker inward or adjust the striker outward within the striker housing until the striker is fully engaged within the latch jaws.
If the cab door does not seal properly, loosen the bolts on the hinge and adjust the cab door until the cab door seals properly against the cab wall. Note: Excessive seal pressure will result in high torques while door latch assembly (2) is being opened.

Install the door panel (left). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Door Panel (Left) -Remove and Install".
