Typical Example
Put identification marks on both sides of clamp assemblies (1) and (3) for installation purposes. Put an identification mark on diesel particulate filter (4) that shows the direction of exhaust gas flow for diesel particulate filter (4) .
Loosen clamp assemblies (1) and (3) . Reposition clamp assemblies (1) and (3) toward the center of diesel particulate filter (4) .
Position Tooling (A) on the diesel particulate filter (4) and disconnect clamp assembly (2) .Note: Do not allow any objects to contact the diesel particulate filter's internal element. The filter assembly can be damaged if the filter assembly is handled in a careless manner.
Use Tooling (A) in order to remove diesel particulate filter (4) . The weight of diesel particulate filter (4) is approximately 15 kg (33 lb). Discard both clamp assemblies (1) and (3) .Installation Procedure
Install diesel particulate filter (4) in the reverse order of removal.

Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of clamp assembly (2) to Dimension (X) . Dimension (X) is 25 mm (1.0 inch) above the trunnion. Tighten clamp assembly (2) to a torque of 15 3 N m (133 27 lb in).
Install new clamp assemblies (1) and (3) . Torque the new clamp assemblies (1) and (3) to a torque of 40 5 N m (30 4 lb ft). Do not use power tools in order to tighten clamp assemblies (1) and (3) ., End By: Reset the engine ash model. Refer to Special InstructionREHS5026.
