Information:
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil tank is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuits (boom, stick and bucket) before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.
1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system as follows: a. Fully retract the rod in the stick cylinder.b. Adjust the position of the bucket so it will be flat on the ground when the boom is lowered.c. Lower the boom until the bucket is flat on the ground.d. Shut off the engine, and put the hydraulic activation control lever in the "Lock" position.e. Move the control levers for the boom, bucket, stick and swing through their full travel strokes. This will relieve any pressure that may be present in the pilot system.f. Slowly loosen the air breather cap on the hydraulic oil tank to release the pressure.g. Tighten the air breather cap on the hydraulic oil tank.h. The pressure in the hydraulic system has now been released. Lines and components can now be removed. 2. Put identification marks on seven hose and tube assemblies (1) that are connected to the counterweight control valve. Disconnect the seven hose and tube assemblies. Put plugs in the lines to prevent oil loss and to keep dirt and debris out of the hydraulic system.3. Remove four bolts (3) and the washers that hold counterweight control valve (2) in position. Remove the counterweight control valve. The following steps are for the installation of the counterweight control valve.4. Check the condition of all O-ring seals used in hose and tube assemblies (1). If any of the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.5. Install the counterweight control valve in the reverse order of removal.6. Check the oil level in the hydraulic oil tank. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedure.Disassemble & Assemble Counterweight Control Valve
Start By:a. remove counterweight control valve1. Make sure the outside of the counterweight control valve is thoroughly clean prior to disassembly. During disassembly, put identification marks on all components for assembly purposes. 2. Disconnect two hand control levers (1) at the counterweight control valve.3. Remove four socket head bolts (2) that hold the counterweight control valve to mounting plate assembly (3). Remove the valve from the mounting plate assembly. 4. Remove three nuts (4). Remove body (5). 5. Remove O-ring seal (7) from the body.6. Remove valve assembly (6) from the body. Valve assembly (6) is not serviceable. Only the O-ring seals in the valve assembly can be replaced.7. Remove O-ring seal (8) from valve assembly (6).8. Remove setscrew (9) from valve assembly (6). Remove the O-ring seal located under the setscrew. 9. Separate valve assemblies (10) and (11). Remove valve assembly (11) from the three rods. 10. Remove O-ring seal (13) from valve assembly (11).11. Remove valve assembly (12) from valve assembly (11). Valve assembly (12) is not serviceable. Only the O-ring seals in the valve assembly can
