Remove the engine, torque converter and transmission. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine, Torque Converter and Transmission - Remove".Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the separation procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Disconnect the wiring harness at two connectors (1) .
Disconnect the wiring harness from six solenoids (3) .
Cut three cable straps (2). Position the wiring harness out of the way.

Remove bolt (4) and the washer.
Disconnect wiring harness (5) at the connector. Position wiring harness (5) out of the way.
Remove four bolts (6) .

Disconnect wiring harness (7). Position wiring harness (7) out of the way.
Remove four bolts (9) .
Remove two bolts (8). Remove filter assembly (10) and the attached tube assemblies from the transmission.

Remove bolt (11) from the clip.

Remove bolt (14) and the washer.
Remove bolt (15) from the two clips.

Remove two bolts (17). Remove tube assembly (13) .
Remove bolt (16) from the clip.

Remove four bolts (20) from tube (18) .
Remove two bolts (22) and filler tube assembly (21) .
Remove dipstick tube assembly (24) .
Remove four bolts (25) from tube assembly (23) .
Remove speed sensor (19) .

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the torque converter and transmission, as shown in Illustration 10. The weight of the torque converter and transmission is approximately 770 kg (1700 lb).
Remove four bolts (26). Remove four bolts (28). Use two people to remove bracket (27). The weight of bracket (27) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).
Repeat Step 22 for the other side bracket.

Remove 12 bolts (29) .
Separate the torque converter and transmission from the engine.

Remove O-ring seal (30) .
