New collet, pin and pin bolt in the lift cylinder rod and lift arm (right side shown).... Lift arm assembly. The 1V2617 Collet formerly used in the inner bore of each lift arm is no longer used. It is replaced by the previously mentioned 6W1249 Collet in the cylinder mounting group. See illustration and chart.These changes not only improve the lift cylinder pin retention, but also eliminate one collet in each lift arm.
Adaptable To: The new pin, collet, and pin bolt are directly adaptable to earlier 992C Loaders. The 1V2617 Collet formerly used in each inner pin bore of the lift arms must be removed to allow use of the new collet. Refer to illustration. The new collet and the new pin bolt can be used with the former pin and the existing 4V3221 Collet used on the other end of the pin.
Install the new collet in each inner bore in the lift arms according to the procedure in the 992C Disassembly and Assembly Service Manual Module, SENR2524. If the hydraulic press tooling is used, the new minimum press force for the new collet is 507 000 N (57 tons).
The new collet must be pressed into the lift arm inner bore until the shoulder of the collet contacts the face of the inner bore.
