Information:

All lubricants in this chart are fully compatible with one another.
If a customer uses a non-Caterpillar lubricant, then the lubricant supplier must certify that the new lubricant is fully compatible with Caterpillar's calcium sulfonate thickened grease. Otherwise, each pin joint should be fully flushed with the new lubricant to entirely remove the Caterpillar lubricant. Failure to meet this requirement may lead to pin joint failure due to premature breakdown of the lubricant!
Any non-Caterpillar lubricant used in these pin joints must also meet the following minimum requirements in order to provide acceptable pin joint life:
Extreme pressure lubricating grease containing 5% molybdenum disulfide.
Molybdenum disulfide purity must meet military specification MIL-M-7866.
Molybdenum disulfide size must be less than 5 microns.
Rust protection rating 1B maximum, as defined by ASTM D1743.
Shell 4-ball weld point 800 kg ASTM D2596
Shell 4-ball wear avg. scar diameter .50mm or less ASTM D2266
Change in worked penetration after 100,000 strokes 1% or less ASTM D217
Roll stability with water 180 degrees F/24 hours + or - 5% ASTM D1831 (modified)
5% salt fog 4000 hours ASTM B117
The Autolube system is equipped with a 189-7651 Pump Group-Lubrication. (The pump is part of the 216-7447 Lines Group-Grease) The pump is mounted behind the operator cab.
The canister can be filled from the ground or at the canister. A full canister will last approximately 1-2 weeks.
The following specifications are for the pump.
Hydraulic input pressure of 300-3000 psi
Input hydraulic flow of 2.5 GPM
Hydraulic pressure reducing valve on pump is factory set at 300psi
The cycle timer is factory set at 1 second on and one second off, for 30 cycles/minute.
The tank is pre-filled with lubricant (Autolube #1)
Approximate weight of 150 lbs (68 kg)
