Remove & Install Governor Drive Group
Start By:a. remove magnetob. remove overspeed shutoff
Typical Example1. Disconnect two oil lines (1) from housing (2).2. Remove one bolt and washer (3) holding the wiring harness (4). Move the wiring harness (4) as necessary to do the service work.3. Remove ten bolts and washers (5) and remove the housing front cover with its gasket.
Typical Example4. Loosen bolt (7) and belt tightening nut (8). Remove belt (9) from alternator (10).5. Remove the belt tension rod bolt (11).6. Remove eight nuts and washers (12) and remove the alternator (10) with its mounting bracket and the variable timing cover (13) and its gasket. 7. Mark the appropriate teeth on the gears for location and timing purposes. Remove one locknut (14) and remove gear (15). 8. Remove four bolts (16) and remove the governor drive group (17). The following steps are for the installation of the governor drive group.9. Put the governor drive group in position and install four bolts (16).10. Install gear (15) and one locknut (14).11. Install variable timing cover (13) and its gasket. Install alternator (10) with its mounting bracket. Install eight nuts and washers (12).12. Install belt tension rod bolt (11).13. Install belt (9) on alternator (10). Tighten belt tightening nut (8) and bolt (7).14. Install the housing front cover with its gasket with ten bolts and washers (5).15. Install wiring harness (4) with one bolt and washer (3).16. Connect two oil lines (1) to housing (2).End By:a. install magnetob. install overspeed shutoffDisassemble & Assemble Governor Drive Group
Start By:a. remove governor drive group 1. Remove the magneto drive shaft assembly (1) from the governor drive housing. 2. Remove the hour meter drive shaft assembly (2). 3. Remove the gear assembly (3). 4. Remove one bolt (4) and the gear (5). 5. Remove the sleeve (6). 6. Remove one O-ring seal (7). 7. Remove three bushings (8) and one dowel (9). The following steps are for the installation of the governor drive group.8. Install one dowel (9) and three bushings (8).9. Install one O-ring seal (7).10. Install the sleeve (6).11. Install the gear (5) and one bolt (4).12. Install the gear assembly (3).13. Install hour meter drive shaft assembly.14. Install the magneto drive shaft assembly (1) from the governor drive housing.End By:a. install governor drive group
