(A) 6V-7636 Spring Pin Assembly (B) Clevis (C) 341-9788 Bellcrank As (D) Jam Nut
Remove Spring Pin Assembly (A) from Clevis (B) and Bellcrank As (C). Refer to Illustration 1.
Loosen Jam Nut (D) on the rod assembly. Turn Clevis (B) counter clockwise to shorten rod-link assembly to where Spring Pin Assembly (A), can be assembled into Bellcrank As (C) slot without binding. Install Spring Pin Assembly (A) onto Clevis (B). Tighten Jam Nut (D), using a backup wrench on Clevis (B) to avoid twisting. Refer to Illustration 1.
After adjusting linkage, close the door.
Lock the door with the key.
Pull the exterior door handle to ensure that the lock is functioning and door does not open.
If door opens, linkage needs further adjustment. Follow Steps 7 and 8. If the door does not open, the adjustment procedure is complete.
Remove Spring Pin Assembly (A) from Clevis (B) and Bellcrank As (C) .
Loosen Jam Nut (D) and turn Clevis (B) clockwise one half turn to lengthen rod-link assembly.
