1. Remove retainer ring (2) from the end of the rocker shafts.2. Remove washers and rocker arm (1). 3. Remove pins (5) that hold the brackets to each end of the shafts. The center bracket does not have a pin.4. Remove bracket (6), rocker arm (3) and spring (4).Assemble Rocker Shafts
1. Put clean SAE 30 oil on the shaft.2. Install the center bracket and rocker arms on the shaft. 3. Install spring (1), rocker arm (2) and bracket (3). Install the pin that holds the brackets on each end of the rocker shafts. Install pin to have .50 .04 in. (12.7 1.0 mm) of the pin above the surface of the bracket. 4. Install rocker arm (4), washers (5) and retainer ring (6) on each end of the shafts.5. Check the rocker arm end play on each end of the shafts. The correct dimension is .012 to .055 in.
