BRACKET 2332980 - Caterpillar

Place roller (15) in the groove of the roller guide plate. Position roller (15) by the slider of cable assembly (14) .
Insert pin (16) of bracket assembly (2) through the slot of the slider of cable assembly (14). Insert pin (16) through the bore of roller (15) .
Fasten bracket assembly (2) to the upper windshield with screws (6). Tighten screws (6) to a torque of 12 3 N m (8.8 2.2 lb ft).
Repeat Steps 4.a to 4.c for bracket assembly (3) .Note: Make sure that each bracket assembly is installed horizontally.
Install the lower rollers and the lower bracket assemblies to the upper windshield in the following manner.
Place roller (15) in the groove of the roller guide plate on the right side.
Insert pin (16) of bracket assembly (4) through the slot of the slider of cable assembly (14). Insert pin (16) through the bore of roller (15) .
Fasten bracket assembly (4) to the upper windshield with screws (6). Tighten screws (6) to a torque of 12 3 N m (8.8 2.2 lb ft).
Repeat Steps 5.a to 5.c for bracket assembly (5) .Note: Make sure that each bracket assembly is installed horizontally.
Turn the engine start switch to the ON position.Note: Do not start the engine.
Open the upper windshield. If the alarm sounds the windshield needs adjustment.

(6) Screw (17) Switch (18) Bracket assembly
The position of switch (17) needs adjustment. Switch (17) is located in the upper right rear of the cab. Adjust switch (17) forward in the following manner.
Close the upper windshield.
Loosen screw (6) and move bracket assembly (18) forward.
Tighten screw (6) to a torque of 12 3 N m (8.8 2.2 lb ft).
Check the windshield again. If the alarm sounds repeat Steps 8.a through 8.c.

Open the upper windshield and check the clearance between bumper (21) of the upper windshield frame and bracket (20). If there is any clearance between the bumper and the bracket adjust the position of the bumper in the following manner.
Move the lower side of the upper windshield against the left side stop.
Loosen nut (19) and unscrew bumper (21). When bumper (21) touches bracket (20) stop. The tip of the bumper should deform slightly.
Tighten nut (19) to a torque of 30 7 N m (22 5 lb ft).
Open and close the upper windshield. Check the clearance between bumper (21) and bracket (20). If there is any clearance between the bumper and the bracket repeat Steps 9.a through 9.c.

Open the upper windshield. Check clearance (C) between upper windshield frame (9) and rubber stoppers (22). Clearance (C) should be less than 1 mm (0.04 inch). If the clearance is greater than 1 mm (0.04 inch) adjust the upper windshield in the following manner.
Close the upper windshield.
Loosen screws (6) from rubber stopper (22) on both sides.
Remove the shims from rubber stoppers (22) .
Tighten screws (6) .
