Make sure machine is on level ground before the parking brakes are removed.
start by: a) remove track motors 1. Disconnect oil line (2). Put a plug in the oil line to prevent loss of hydraulic oil.2. Fasten a hoist to the parking brake housing. Remove six bolts (1). Remove parking brake (4). The weight of the parking brake is 110 lb. (50 kg). 3. Remove adapter (3).Install Parking Brakes
1. Check to see that the snap ring is in position on the inside of adapter (1). Install the adapter.2. Inspect the O-ring seal on the front of the parking brake. Install a new seal if needed. If discs and plates have been removed, put clean final drive oil on both sides of discs and plates. 3. Fasten a hoist to the parking brake housing. Put parking brake (4) in position on the final drive case. Install six bolts (2). Tighten the six bolts evenly to compress the springs inside the parking brake.4. Remove the plug from the oil line. Connect the line to the parking brake.5. After the track motor has been installed, remove valve (3). Add one quart of clean final drive oil. start by: a) remove parking brakes 1. Remove the O-ring seal from lock (1).2. Remove the three plates (2) and two discs (3).3. Remove the lock from the housing.4. Remove the O-ring seal from the lock. 5. Put the housing and brake assembly in position on blocks. The weight of the housing and brake assembly is 80 lb. (36 kg). Remove the brake assembly from the housing with tool (A).6. Remove the two seals from inside the housing. 7. Loosen setscrew (5) and remove nut (6).8. Remove piston (4) from the plate. Remove the O-ring seal from the piston.9. Remove block (7) from the plate. Remove the O-ring seal and the lip-type seal from the block. 10. Remove two retainers (8) and two springs (9) from the plate.Assemble Parking Brakes
1. Put retainers (7) and springs (5) in position on plate (6).2. Install lip-type seal (1) in block (2) with lip of seal toward the piston. Put oil on the lip of the seal. Install the block on the plate. Install the O-ring seal on the block.3. Install the O-ring seal in piston (3). Put oil on the seal. Install the piston on the plate.4. Install nut (8) on the plate. Tighten the nut until it is against the bottom (shoulder) of the plate. Tighten setscrew (4).5. Install teflon (yellow) seal (9) and seal (10) in the housing. Put oil on the seals. 6. Install the brake assembly in the housing. 7. Install the O-ring seal on lock (13). Install the lock on the housing.8. Put clean final drive oil on both sides of the discs and plates. Install three plates (11) and two discs (12) in the housing.9. Install the O-ring seal in the lock.end by: a) install parking brakes
