Coolant from the engine comes in at one end of the cooler. The coolant flows through the many long tubes that are inside the cooler. The coolant flows out of the other end of the cooler. After the cooler, the coolant flows into the system.The hot oil enters the cooler through the inlet lines at the bottom side of the cooler. This oil flows along the coolant tubes and around the coolant tubes. The baffles inside the cooler route the oil through the cooler. Heat is removed from the oil. This heat is absorbed by the coolant. The hotter coolant now leaves the cooler. This hot coolant is cooled by the engine cooling system.
