Remove nut (8) that secures electrical connector (6) to the bracket assembly on the back of the cab. Remove electrical connector (6) from the bracket assembly on the back of the cab.
Effective July 1, 1992 regulations prohibit the venting of any refrigerant into the atmosphere. Refer to Caterpillar publications Service Manuals, SENR3334, SENR5664, and NEDG5065 for the proper procedure, the proper equipment, and the proper tools needed in order to reclaim refrigerant from any Caterpillar equipment.
Personal injury can result from contact with refrigerant.Contact with refrigerant can cause frost bite. Keep face and hands away to help prevent injury.Protective goggles must always be worn when refrigerant lines are opened, even if the gauges indicate the system is empty of refrigerant.Always use precaution when a fitting is removed. Slowly loosen the fitting. If the system is still under pressure, release it slowly in a well ventilated area.Personal injury or death can result from inhaling refrigerant through a lit cigarette.Inhaling air conditioner refrigerant gas through a lit cigarette or other smoking method or inhaling fumes released from a flame contacting air conditioner refrigerant gas, can cause bodily harm or death.Do not smoke when servicing air conditioners or wherever refrigerant gas may be present.Use a certified recovery and recycling cart to properly remove the refrigerant from the air conditioning system.
Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning And Heating Systems With R-134a Refrigerant".

Disconnect hose assembly (9) from coupling (10). Disconnect hose assembly (11) from coupling (12). Remove the bolt from the cab support on the left side in order to disconnect the grounding strap.

Loosen clamp (13) that secures hose (14) to the nipple assembly for the heating system. Disconnect hose (14) from the nipple assembly. Loosen hose clamp (15) that secures hose (16) to the nipple assembly for the heating system. Disconnect hose (16) from the nipple assembly.

Disconnect hose assembly (17) from the steering neutralizer valve. Disconnect hose assembly (18) from the steering neutralizer valve. Disconnect hose assembly (19) from the fitting on the bottom of the cab. Disconnect hose assembly (20) from the manifold on the engine end frame.

Disconnect seven hose assemblies (21) for the implements from the fittings on the bottom of the cab.

Open the two door assemblies behind the cab. Remove the cotter pin in order to disconnect service brake cable (22) from pin (23) in the lever on the service brake control valve.
Remove the cotter pin in order to disconnect service brake cable (24) from pin (25) in the lever on the service brake control valve. Disconnect the service brake cables from the levers.
Remove the cotter pin in order to disconnect parking brake cable (26) from pin (27) in the lever on the parking brake control valve. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever.
Loosen nuts (28) that secure the cables to the bracket assembly. Remove the cables from the bracket assembly.
