preparatory step: a) remove wheel planetary final drive1. Loosen brake slack adjuster.2. Raise side of scraper. Install tool setup (B).3. Remove lockwire, retainer plate and shims. 4. Remove ring gear using lifting bracket (A)-weight 190 lbs. (86 kg). 5. Position a lift truck under tire and support weight of wheel.6. Remove outer bearing cone.7. Remove wheel and rim assembly-weight 4700 lbs. (2132 kg).Install Wheel
1. Position wheel assembly using a lift truck.2. Install outer bearing cone. 3. Install ring gear and hub assembly as a unit using lifting bracket (A).4. Install retainer plate (1) without shims using four bolts evenly spaced. Tighten bolts evenly to 100 10 lb. ft. (13,8 1,4 mkg) while rotating wheel. 5. Determine amount of shims required as follows:Using a 0-1 inch depth micrometer measure through the two tapped holes in the retainer and determine an average depth. Using an 0-1 inch outside micrometer measure the thickness of the retainer at the holes and subtract this from the average depth. Install shims .010 in. (0,25 mm) thicker than measured gap. 6. Install retainer with shims and tighten bolts to 150 20 lb. ft. (20,7 2,8 mkg). Install lockwire. 7. Adjust brakes.concluding step: a) install wheel planetary final drive
