PROBLEM:
The stabilizer pressure switch can under certain conditions deactivate due to sensing a loss of pressure. This will require the operator to re-deploy the stabilizers. The deactivation of the switch could be due to soft ground conditions. This situation applies to machines that use the access platforms that were manufactured for the EAME market only. This situation could also affect the boom telescope out function of the TH580B Telehandler.
SOLUTION:
To resolve this situation, installation of the 251-9382 Machine Software Group or the replacement software is required. If the above named software is installed, the deployment of the stabilizer legs will require the operator to perform a different sequence of operations of the stabilizer switches that are positioned in the operator station.
When you deploy the stabilizer legs, the last command on the machine operator switches must be a lower command. If the stabilizer legs have been deployed and then one or both stabilizer legs have been slightly raised in order to level the machine, the operator must initiate a lower command in order to activate the pressure switch for the stabilizer legs. If this sequence has been followed, the green stabilizer deployed switch on the dash will illuminate. The pressure switch for the stabilizer legs will hold the activation pressure until the operator initiates a raise command.
