1. Clean the outside diameter of all collets (1) and pins (2).2. Clean the bores for the collets and pins. The installation of the seals, collets, pins and bolts is the same for all joints.3. Install pins (6) and (8) so that they are in alignment with the dowels in the collets.4. Flanged collet (7) is installed on the inner bucket ear (Section E-E).5. Remove bolts (5) and the bushings after the pins and the collets have been installed at the hinge of the bucket (Section E-E). Remove the bushings from bolts (5). Loosen bolts (4) in order to allow the pin bore to enlarge. Install bolts (5) into the original location without the bushings. Tighten bolts (5) in order to enlarge the pin bore. The torque on bolts (5) must never be more than 540 N m (400 lb ft). After the pins and the collets are installed, remove bolts (5) and tighten bolts (4). Install the bushings on bolts (5) and reinstall the bolts. Apply 1E2078 Anti-Seize Compound to bolt threads before installation.Torque Procedure:
1. Make sure that the pins, collets and bores are clean and free of all oil and grease.2. Tighten bolt (3) to 1800 200 N m (1320 150 lb ft). After the nut and bolt are tightened, hit the collets on both sides until the torque for the nut and bolt drops to less than 950 N m (700 lb ft).3. Retighten the nut and bolt again until the torque is 1800 200 N m (1320 150 lb ft). Hit each collet again on both sides until the torque on the nut and bolt drops to less than 1600 N m (1180 lb ft). Tighten the nut and bolt to a final torque of 1800 200 N m (1320 150 lb ft) Apply 1E2078 Anti-Seize Compound to bolt threads before installation.Optional Method Of Installation
1. Make sure that the pins, collets and bores are clean and free of all oil and grease.2. Install the pins and collets as before. Press the collets on the pins with 507 000 N (114 000 lb) of force. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 1800 200 N m (1320 150 lb ft). The collet on one side must not extend farther than the other collet when the nut and bolt are tight (final torque). Apply 1E2078 Anti-Seize Compound to bolt threads before installation. On wheel loaders with split end bucket link assemblies, torque bolts to ... 1125 100 N m (820 75 lb ft). At details G, H and J apply 1E2200 sealant to bore prior to installation of seal.
