Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR2608, "Seperation and Connection of Anti-Pivot Link".
Remove the push arms and the blade. For the correct procedure, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SENR2615, "Disassemble and Assemble Bulldozer Group".
Lower the implement to the ground.
Place wood blocks in front of the rear wheels and behind the rear wheels.

Position the tooling (A) under the front frame, as shown.
Use Tooling (A) to raise the front of the machine until the wheels are off the ground.
Lock Tooling (A) in position.

Fasten a hoist and suitable lifting straps (6) to the wheel, as shown.
Remove the 40 bolts and 40 washers (7) from the rim.
Use the hoist to carefully remove the wheel. The weight of the wheel is 3177 kg (7004 lb).
Remove all the debris from the axle.
Repeat steps 8 through 11 for the RH side of the machine.Installation of Rim Extension on the Wheel
The 175-4915 Guard is used to protect the axle. The 175-4915 Guard will be welded to the inside diameter of each wheel.

Typical Example
Position the 175-4915 Guard (1) on the inside diameter of the wheel. Place the chamfered edge of the guard toward the wheel.
Tack weld the guard in place.
After the guard is positioned correctly, weld the guard to the wheel. Use a 8 mm (0.32 inch) bevel weld (A) on the inside of the guard.Note: Only weld the gap on the guard after the guard has been positioned correctly.
Once the guard has been attached, use a 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) butt weld (B) to close the gap on the guard.

Position each 166-4069 Block (1). Weld blocks in place. Refer to Illustration 14 for placement.
Position a 173-9731 Block (2). Weld the block in place. Refer to Illustration 14 for placement.
Repeat the welding process for opposite side of the front frame.Installation of Front Guard Assemblies
