Push the brake pedals downward in order to stop the machine from moving. Install the brake pedal lock bar between the brake pedals if the machine is not operating in FIRST gear.
Release the parking brake.
Disengage the transmission neutral lock and move the transmission control levers to the desired direction and to the desired speed.
Release the brake pedals in order to move the machine.
Move the accelerator pedal to the desired engine speed.
Move the machine forward for best visibility and for best control. Operating with Street Pads
Street pads are polyurethane pads that provide protection against damage to asphalt caused by the bucket while operating the backhoe. Street pads clamp between the bucket blade and the bucket clam.

Remove pins from the street pad assemblies and remove the street pads.

Slightly raise the bucket and rack back the bucket.
Open the bucket clam, exposing the bucket blade.
Place the street pads on the blade cutting edge. Place one street pad on each side of the cutting edge.
Close the bucket clam until the bucket clam is resting on the street pads. Note: The street pads will be secured between the bucket clam and the bucket blade.
Level and lower the bucket until fully resting on the street pads. Note: If the street pads become worn, remove the three bolts on the bottom of the street pads and replace with new street pads.
