Apply clean engine oil to sleeve bearings (10). Use Tooling (B) to install sleeve bearings (10) to body (3).
Position the joints in sleeve bearings (10) for 45 15 degrees from the center of the bearing bore. See Item (11) in Illustration 2.

Install sleeve bearings (10) to a depth of 1.5 0.5 mm (0.06 0.02 inch) in body (3). See Item (12) in Illustration 3. After installing sleeve bearings (10), measure the inner diameter of sleeve bearings (10). The inner diameter must be 31.837 0.070 mm (1.2534 0.0028 inch).

Apply clean engine oil to idler shaft assembly (9) and drive shaft assembly (8). Install idler shaft assembly (9) and drive shaft assembly (8) into body (3).

Apply clean engine oil to sleeve bearings (4). Use Tooling (B) to install sleeve bearings (4) in cover (6). Position the joints in sleeve bearings (4) for 45 15 degrees from the center of the bearing bore. See Item (13) in Illustration 5. Install sleeve bearings (4) to a depth of 1.5 0.5 mm (0.06 0.02 inch). See Item (14) in Illustration 5.After installing sleeve bearings (4), measure the inner diameter of sleeve bearings (4). The diameter must be 31.837 0.070 mm (1.2534 0.0028 inch).
Install dowels (5) into cover (6). Install dowels (5) so that dowels (5) protrude 6.4 0.5 mm (0.25 0.02 inch) from the surface of cover (6). See Item (15) in Illustration 5.

Align the marks on cover (6) and body (3) and position cover (6). Install bolts (7).
Install gear (2). Tap on gear (2) in order to seat the taper onto the shaft. Install bolt (1). Tighten bolt (1) to a torque of 100 20 N m (75 15 lb ft). Repeat this procedure until the torque does not change.End By:
Install the engine oil scavenge pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Scavenge Pump - Install".
