(1) 124-2246 Permanent Coupling AsUse the following procedure to refill the oil in the rear axle using 124-2246 Permanent Coupling As (1):
Remove the fill or level plug (A) from the front and rear face of the rear axle as shown in the Illustration 1.
Insert the permanent coupling assembly (1) to the front face of the rear axle as shown in the Illustration 2.
Attach suitable length of the hose to the permanent coupling assembly (1) and proceed to refill the axle in accordance with the Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM).
Using the "check fill" orifice on the rear face of the axle, fill until the oil reaches the bottom edge of the orifice. Refer to Section 2.3, "Fluid and Lubricant Capacities" in the Service Manual , UENR6280, for proper oil and capacities. Once full, remove the coupling, refit both plugs to the front and rear of the axle.
