Remove all 155-9153 or 259-0872 Stick Cylinder Rod Assemblies from dealer parts stock.
****Affected Product****
If the 155-9153 or 259-0872 Stick Cylinder Rod fails, replace it with a new 3153374/">315-3374 Rod Assembly. Follow your Disassembly and Assembly Manual in order to remove the failed rod and to install the new rod.
If this is before failure, inspect the rod assembly in order to determine which rod assembly is on the machine. Rod assemblies 155-9153 or 259-0872 are made from 2 different material specifications. Refer to Image 1 in order to determine which rod is on the machine:
- Part Number is stamped at rod eye-end side.
- Part Number is stamped at rod eye-side face.
If it is a rod with a stamp at the rod eye-end side, the rod assembly can be replaced before failure. If it is a rod with a stamp at the rod eye-side face, this rod assembly should only be replaced after failure.
The new 3153374/">315-3374 Rod Assembly also has a stamp at the rod eye-end side using the new 315-3373 Rough Rod.

0.5 hour is allowed for the inspection of the rod.
An additional 7.5 hours will be allowed for replacing the rod before failure.
Up to a maximum of 10.0 hours will be allowed for replacing the rod after failure.
If there has been a previous repair in which the customer participated, part age/hours will apply. Retain a copy of the previous repair invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes, and specify repair date and machine hours in the "Additional Comments" section of the warranty claim.
