1. Connect the steering frame lock link. See the topic "Separate & Connect Steering Frame Lock Link" in this module.2. Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to the topic "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release" in this module. 3. Remove guard (1) from tilt cylinder (2). Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal. 4. Disconnect hydraulic hose assemblies (3) from tilt cylinder (2). 5. Fasten a suitable lifting sling and hoist to cylinder (2).6. Remove bolts (4), retainer (5), and pin (6).7. Repeat step 4 for the removal of pin (7). 8. Carefully remove tilt cylinder (2). The weight of the tilt cylinder is 239 kg (525 lb).Install Tilt Cylinder
1. Thoroughly clean the pin bores of the tilt cylinder and blade assembly. Lubricate the pins and pin bores prior to assembly. 2. Fasten a suitable lifting sling and hoist to cylinder (2).3. Carefully install tilt cylinder (2). The weight of the tilt cylinder is 239 kg (525 lb). 4. Install pin (6), retainer (5), and bolts (4).5. Repeat step 4 for the installation of pin (7). 6. Connect hydraulic hose assemblies (3) to tilt cylinder (2). 7. Install guard (1) on tilt cylinder (2).8. Separate the steering frame lock link. Refer to the topic "Steering Frame Lock Link, Separate & Connect" in this module.Disassemble Tilt Cylinder

Typical Example1. Use Tooling (A) to remove snap rings (2) from each side of the rod.2. Use Tooling (B) to remove bearing (1) from the rod.
Typical Example3. Use Tooling (C) to remove the bearings from the cylinder assembly.
Typical Example4. Put cylinder assembly (3) on Tooling (D) as shown. The weight of the tilt cylinder is 239 kg (525 lb).
Typical Example5. Put a mark on the head and cylinder for correct alignment at assembly. Remove bolts (4) that hold the head to the cylinder.
Typical Example6. Put stand (5) in position under the cylinder rod as support for the weight.7. Use Tooling (D) to pull the cylinder from the rod and head.
Typical Example8. Use Tooling (E) and the correct size socket to loosen nut (7) that holds piston (6) on the rod.9. Loosen nut (7) approximately 25.4 mm (1 in) from piston (6).
Typical Example10. Push the cylinder in position on the head with Tooling (D). Install four of the original bolts (4) to hold the unit together.11. Use Tooling (D) to pull the cylinder from the rod until piston (6) is moved from the rod taper against nut (7).12. Remove bolts (4) and use Tooling (D) to pull the cylinder from the head and rod.
Typical Example13. Remove nut (7) and piston (6) from the end of the rod.
Typical Example14. Remove wear ring (8) and seal assembly (9) from piston (6). If it is necessary to remove the plungers from the piston (6),refer to steps 20 and 21.
Typical Example15. Fasten Tooling (F) and a hoist to head (10). Use Tooling (D)
