Problem
The transmission 2HL100, used on M315, M315 and M320 Excavators may fail at low hours because of internal contamination. The valve can be stuck open, resulting in insufficient lubrication oil pressure/flow and subsequent damage/malfunction of the transmission (clutch disc packages, planetary gears, downshift inhibitor).

1. Thorougly clean the downshift inhibitor in the area around the valve to be replaced.2. Remove 135-5330 Pressure Relief Valve.3. Install the improved 149-5881 Pressure Relief Valve using a 8 mm HEX Driver socket. To get good access to the valve located at the downshift inhibitor of the transmission use sockets in the shortest version. See Illustration 1
Make sure that the area of the downshift inhibitor is properly cleaned before the rework is carried out. Dirt must not enter the transmission while replacing the valve. This could result in transmission malfunction.
