Removel Of 6C-5706 Heater Assembly
1.Drain coolant from the engine block.2.Disconnect the electrical power cable from the heating element. Remove the electrical power cables from the machine, that supplied electrical power to the heating element.3.Straighten the tubes on the outside of the heater assembly. This will provide access to drill a hole for a3/8 inch tap.4.Drill a hole for a3/8 inch tap through the body of the heater assembly. Tap the hole with 3/8 inch thread.5.Install a slide hammer in the 3/8 inch tapped hole. Use the slide hammer to remove the heater assembly.6.Plug the hole where the heater assembly was removed with a 3H-5552 Cup Plug, or install a 9X-3294 or 3T-8724 Heater Group.7.Fill the engine cooling system and check for leaks. 1.Clean the surfaces of the hole where the heater group is to be installed. This will provide a good sealing surface for the heater group.2.Put the heater group into position in the hole and tighten the nut next to the block to a torque of 41 3 N m (30 2 lb ft).3.Install the electrical power cord assembly on the heater assembly.
