Connect the steering frame lock.
Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Note: The axle will not need to be removed in order to remove the brake cylinders.Rear Axle
Move the boom and stick. Swing the boom and the stick to one side of the machine and lower the grapple to the ground.
Place wood blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.

Open the access door.

Disconnect four hose assemblies (1) .

Before the brake cylinder is removed, manually disengage the brake cylinder.Note: A bolt is stored under cap (2) .

Install bolt (3). Tighten bolt (3) until the spring that is inside of brake cylinder (4) is compressed completely. The spring that is inside of brake cylinder (4) is compressed completely when bolt (3) cannot be turned.

Remove four bolts (5) .
Remove brake cylinder (6) .Front Axle
Place wood blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels.
Remove the bottom guard.

Place Tooling (A) under front axle guard (8) .
Remove eight bolts (7) from front axle guard (8) .
Use Tooling (A) to remove front axle guard (8) .

Install bolt (3). Tighten bolt (3) until the spring that is inside of brake cylinder (4) is compressed completely. The spring that is inside of brake cylinder (4) is compressed completely when bolt (3) cannot be turned.

Remove four bolts (5) .
Remove brake cylinder (6) .Installation Procedure
Install brake cylinder (6) in the reverse order of the removal.
Install bolts (5) to the following torque 45 N m (33 lb ft).
Check the stroke of the brake cylinders. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Brake Cylinder Test and Adjust".
Purge the air from the brake system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Brake System Air Purge".
