Start By:a. remove transmission 1. Position the transmission on a stand as shown.2. Remove control valve (1). Remove cover (2). Remove the O-ring from cover (2). 3. Remove coils (4) and solenoid cap (3). 4. Remove core assembly (5). Remove O-ring (6). Remove spring (7) and pin assembly (8). 5. Press down on piston (10) and remove pin (9). 6. Remove five O-rings from solenoid cap (3). Remove piston (16) and spring (15) from the valve.7. Remove spring (14), washer (12) and spool (11) from the valve body. 8. Remove the left solenoid cap. Remove five O-rings (17). Remove washer (19) and spring (18) from the valve body. Remove spool assembly (22) and shims (23). Remove retaining ring (20) and blocker plate (21) from the spool assembly.9. Repeat Step 4 on the left solenoid cap. 10. Turn the transmission over and remove bolts (24). Remove stub shaft (25). 11. Attach a lifting device to tool (B). Remove adapters (26). Lift the top half of the case off. 12. Remove first stage (27) (clutch). 13. Remove three ring seals (28). 14. Place the first stage in a press and remove gear (29) and bearing (30). 15. Remove bearing (31). 16. Remove retainer ring (32). 17. Remove clutch return plate (33), six clutch separator plates (35) and six clutch plates (34). 18. Remove retainer ring (36). 19. Using tool (C), remove bearing (37). 20. Place in press and apply pressure on tool (D) so retaining ring (38) can be removed. 21. Remove spacer (39) and belleville washers (40). 22. Remove piston assembly (41). 23. Remove lip seal and back-up ring (42). 24. Remove pin and unloader ball (43). 25. Remove bearing (44) and gear (45) with tool (C) and repeat Steps 20 through 24 for the other side. 26. Remove bearings (46) from cover. 27. Remove third stage (47). 28. Remove two bearings (48) and gear (49) from third stage. 29. Remove second stage (50). 30. Remove two bearings (51) and two gears (52) from the second stage. 31. Remove five bolts (54) and backing plate (55). Remove fourth stage (53). 32. Remove two bearings (56) and gear (57) from the fourth stage. Unless there is a known leak around the suction tube, it is not necessary to remove for maintenance.33. Remove bearing (58) and suction tube (59).Assemble Transmission
Put a light coat of clean hydraulic oil on gears, bearings, shafts and seals as the transmission is assembled. 1. If suction tube (59) was removed, install the fitting and insert the tube into the fitting. Use a swedging tool to roll the suction tube until it is tight in the fitting.2. Install bearings (58). 3. Install bearings (46) in the input housing. 4. Install two bearings (56) and gear (57) on the fourth stage. 5. Install
