The hole in the Reaction Anchor of certain 6V-6080Multiplier Groups is incorrectly located. Separation of the Reaction Anchorfrom the multiplier during operation is therefore possible. 6V-6080 TorqueMultipliers ordered after January 18, 2005 through April 1, 2005 couldhave the non-conforming hole location. This problem should be considered safety-related.As such, dealers are to make an effort at recovering and replacing affectedTorque Multipliers either in use by service personnel or purchased by theircustomers. To assist with this effort, a suggested Notification Letteris included as an attachment to hang up at the parts counter.Illustration 1ACTION REQUIRED
The supplier serial numberconsists of a three-letter prefix followed by a single number in the range0-9. This number is engraved on the multiplier head at the flat end ofthe extension that mates with the Reaction Anchor.
Inspect the supplier Serial Number ofall 6V-6080 Multiplier Groups that were ordered between January 18, 2005and April1, 2005.
Replace with new all 6V-6080 Multiplierswith the following Serial Numbers:
ATR4, ATR5, ATR6, ATR7, ATR8, ATR9,ATS0, ATS1, ATS2, AVC0, AVC1, and all with serial number prefixes ATT,ATU, ATW, ATX, ATY, ATZ, AUA, AUB, AUC, AUD, AUE, AUF, AUG, AUH, AUI, AUJ,AUK, AUL, AUM, AUN, AUO, AUP, AUQ, AUR, AUS, AUT, AUU, AUV, AUW, AUX, AUY,AUZ, AVA, AVB Do not use any multiplier group having one of the above SupplierSerial Numbers. Make no modification to these multiplier groups.SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all 6V-6080 Torque Multipliersremoved from Dealer Inventory. Submit one claim for the affected multipliersreturned to the Dealer from customers.PARTS DISPOSITION
Note: All dealers make sure to mark the outsideof the shipping container with PI70103.All Dealers return all 6V-6080 Torque Multipliersremoved from Dealer Parts Stock and a copy of the claim to:
