1. Position the drum assembly as shown and use wooden blocks to prevent the drum assembly from moving. Attach a lifting strap and hoist to support (1) as shown. Remove 17 bolts (2), and remove the support from the propel motor. The weight of the support is 77 kg (170 lb). 2. Remove six bolts (3) that fasten drive plate (4) to the mounts. 3. Attach lifting straps and a hoist to drive plate (4) as shown. Remove the remaining 26 bolts (3), and remove drive plate (4) and propel motor and torque hub (5) as a unit from the mounts. The weight of the drive plate and propel motor and torque hub as unit is 250 kg (550 lb). 4. Position the propel motor and torque hub on wooden blocks as shown. Attach lifting straps and a hoist to drive plate (4). Remove ten nuts (6), remove the drive plate from propel motor and torque hub (5). The weight of the drive plate is 105 kg (230 lb). When installing the drive plate on the propel motor and torque hub, tighten ten nuts (6) to a torque of 680 60 N m (500 45 lb ft). For installation of the propel motor and torque hub, reverse the removal steps.Separate & Connect Propel Motor & Torque Hub
Start By:a. remove propel motor & torque hub The separate and connect procedure is the same for the front and rear propel motors and torque hubs. 1. Install Tooling (A) on the torque hub as shown. Use a lifting strap and hoist to raise and support the propel motor and torque hub. The weight of the propel motor and torque hub is 123 kg (270 lb).2. Remove fill plug (1) and drain plug (2), and drain the oil from the torque hub. 3. Remove two bolts (3). Use two persons to remove propel motor (4) and the O-ring seal from torque hub (5). The weight of the propel motor is 25 kg (55 lb). Check the O-ring seal for damage or wear and replace if necessary. To connect the propel motor to the torque hub, reverse the separation steps.
