Start By:
Remove the engine enclosure from the left side of the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Enclosure - Remove and Install" in this publication.
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Use Tooling (A) to remove two oil filters (1).

Remove four bolts (2) and the washers.

Remove O-ring seals (5) and rubber sleeves (6).

Remove three bolts (7) and drip pan (8), if necessary. Installation Procedure

Install drip pan (8) with three bolts (7), if necessary.

Install new O-ring seals (5) and rubber sleeves (6).

Install oil filter base assembly (4) onto the oil tubes.

Install four bolts (3), the washers, and the plates.

Install two oil filters (1). Apply clean lubricating oil to the filter gaskets. Tighten the filters by 3/4 of a turn after the gaskets contact the oil filter base. End By:
