BRACKET AS 3762740 - Caterpillar

(1) Turn the house of the 245 Excavator until the stick and boom are over the track motors. (2) Remove the cover from the top of the counterweight. Loosen the eight counterweight bolts (1). Fasten a chain from a suitable hoist to the counterweight lift bars and remove the eight counterweight bolts and two plates.
To lift and remove the counterweight, use a hoist or machine of no less capacity than a 988 Wheel Loader. Approximate weight of the counterweight is 17,500 lbs. (7937).
(3) Install a retaining bolt into each shear pin. Keep tension on the chain, then remove the pins and lower the counterweight to the ground. (4) Cylinder (2) must be installed from below the Excavator as shown. As the cylinder is lifted into position, put bearing plates (3) on the cylinder trunnions. Be sure that the bolt patterns on the bearing plates and the mounting bracket on the machine are the same. (5) Install and tighten bolts (4) in each bearing plate. Boss (5) must be on the right side of the cylinder as shown. (6) Install angle assembly (6) inside the rear compartment door with three bolts, washers and lockwashers. (7) Install 90° elbow (7) on the control valve. This must be done before the valve is installed. Install the valve on angle (6). For excavators equipped with 8K3519 Pump Lines Group, a 3V5118 Hose Assembly must be used in place of the 4V5593 Hose Assembly that is part of the counterweight handling arrangement. On excavators that have the 4V9255 Pump Lines Group, the pilot pump was moved to the back of the swing pump. The following illustrations have identification to show the correct installation of lines for both the 8K3519 and 4V9255 Pump Lines Groups. (8) For machines with 8K3519 Pump Lines Group, disconnect hose (8) at the union and at the pilot filter. Remove the hose from the machine. For machines with 4V9255 Pump Lines Group, disconnect hose (8) at the pilot pump and from the tee at the pilot filter. (9) Connect 2V509 Hose (D) to the tee on the pilot filter and to the elbow on the control valve. Install a connector and seal into the valve body at the "end inlet port" and connect 4V5593 Hose (C) to the connector and to the pilot pump with the flanges and seal. Disconnect 8K4863 or 4V9199 Hose from the case drain filter and install the 307960 Tee in the filter. Connect 8K4863 or 4V9199 Hose and 2V508 Hose (E) to the tee. Install 315744 Elbow and 308307 Connector into the valve at "bottom outlet port" and connect 2V508 Hose (E) to this elbow; fasten hoses (E) and (D) with 7K1181 Straps. Install two 8K2377 Elbows (10) and seals onto the control valve. Connect 2V512 Hose (A) and 2V511 Hose (B) to the elbows. Install 9J4119 Check Valve (9) and the seal to the boss, at the rod end of the cylinder, and install 8M505 Connector and seal in valve
