8T-0500     Continuity Testing Light     1    In AUTOMATIC mode, two limit switches control the direction and activation of the vibratory system. The eccentric weight in the vibratory pod should rotate in the same direction as the machine travel. One switch controls the vibratory system in the forward direction. The other switch controls the vibratory system in the reverse direction. Both switches are located on the propel control lever.Note: It is not necessary to run the engine in order to test the switches.

Lift the rubber boot on the propel control lever in order to access the switches.

Find the receptacle (8) on the propel control lever. Disconnect the receptacle (8) .
Arrange the 8T-0500 Continuity Test Light in order to test continuity between wire C925-GN (5) and wire C934-BU (6) .
Slowly move the propel control lever into REVERSE. Watch the Continuity Test Light. The circuit should close at 30% of the propel control lever travel.Note: When the propel control lever is in NEUTRAL, the circuit should be open. The plate (2) must be adjusted if the circuit is closed in NEUTRAL.
Loosen the screw (1) .
Slide the plate (2) upward in order to close the circuit with less propel control lever travel. Slide the plate (2) downward in order to close the circuit with more propel control lever travel.
Tighten the screw (1) .
Arrange the 8T-0500 Continuity Test Light in order to test continuity between wire C924-YL (7) and wire C934-BU (6) .
Slowly move the propel control lever into FORWARD. Watch the Continuity Test Light. The circuit should close at 30% of the propel control lever travel.Note: The switch should not be closed when the propel control lever is in NEUTRAL. The plate (3) must be adjusted if the circuit is closed in NEUTRAL.
Loosen the screw (4) and slide the plate (3) in order to adjust the forward vibratory limit switch.
Tighten the screw (4) .
Reconnect the receptacle (8) .
Replace the boot.
