Removal and Installation Procedure

Illustration 2 g06055120Note: Replace straps (1) and (4) as a pair.Note: The replacement of straps (1) and (4) can be performed without disconnecting or removing the muffler.
Remove bolt (2) and remove strap (1).
Dimension (A) should measure 72.7 6 mm (2.86 0.2 inch). Adjust muffler if necessary. Final adjustments may need made after the muffler is installed.
Replace strap (1) and tighten bolts (2) and (5) to a torque of 5 N m (44 lb in). Ensure that the strap is perpendicular to the muffler.
Remove bolt (3) and remove strap (4).
Replace strap (4) and tighten bolts (3) and (6) to a torque of 5 N m (44 lb in). Ensure that the strap is perpendicular to the muffler.
Check straps (1) and (4) again ensuring the straps are perpendicular to the muffler.
Tighten bolts (2), (3), (5), and (6) in order, to a torque of 20 3 N m (177 27 lb in).
