Weight: 11 pounds 5 kg.
Information:
During assembly, put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the outside spline of the 5V2497 Gear Assembly. Install the 3V9014 Flange on the gear with a minimum force of 9000 N (2,020 lb).
Make sure the 307335 Bolts are used to fasten the 5V2496 Spider to the 3V9014 Flange. Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the face and threads of the 5V5379 Bolt. Do not use the 7K4370 Bolts with the 9V7575 Retainer.
Another method can also be used to install the 3V9014 Flange on the 5V2497 Gear Assembly. Use steel to make a plate that is 25.4 mm (1.00") thick, 106 mm (4") wide and 106 mm (4") long. Drill a 40.9 mm (1.61") diameter hole in the center of the plate. Assemble the parts as shown in the Service Manual, but install the plate and a 1F6762 Bolt (1 1/2"-12 bolt 4.5" long) instead of the 9V7575 Retainer and 5V5379 Bolt. Use of the plate will prevent damage to the retainer.
Tighten the 1F6762 Bolt to 680 N m (500 lb ft), and hit it three times with a hammer. Do this sequence again until a torque of 680 N m (500 lb ft) will no longer turn the bolt.
Remove the bolt and plate. The distance from the face of 3V9014 Flange to the end of the 5V2497 Gear Assembly must be less than 1.14 mm (.045"). If the distance is greater than 1.14 mm (.045"), install a new 3V9014 Flange and/or a new 5V2497 Gear Assembly to get the correct clearance.
Put 5P960 Multipurpose Grease on the threads of the 5V5379 Bolt, and install the bolt. Tighten it to 270 27 N m (200 20 lb ft) plus an additional 60° 5° turn.
Make a note of this information in your Service Manual.
