At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oil can cause burns. To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuits (boom, stick and bucket) before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.
1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system as follows:a. Fully retract the stick cylinder rod.b. Adjust the position of the bucket so it will be flat on the ground when the boom is lowered.c. Lower the boom until the bucket is flat on the ground.d. Stop the engine.e. Place the engine start switch in the "ON" position without starting the engine.f. Move the control levers for the boom, stick, bucket and swing to all full stroke positions. This will release any pressure that might be present in the pilot system.g. Slowly move the travel pilot control pedal to "FORWARD" and "REVERSE" travel positions. This will release any pressure in the travel circuit.h. Slowly loosen and remove the pressure cap on the hydraulic tank to release the hydraulic pressure.i. Reinstall and tighten the pressure cap on the hydraulic tank.j. The pressure in the hydraulic system has been released and implement/travel lines and components can be removed. 2. Remove knob (1) from the hydraulic activation control valve lever.3. Remove socket head bolt (2) with the lever and spring (3) from the oscillating axle/operating brake valve. 4. Remove six screws (5) that hold cover (4) in position. Remove the cover from the left hand console. 5. Remove four socket head cap screws (6) that hold left hand console cover (7) in position. Remove the left hand console cover. 6. For installation purposes, put identification marks on nine hose assemblies (9) that connect to the pilot control valve (stick/swing) and the oscillating axle/operating brake valve. Disconnect the nine hose assemblies from the valves. Put plugs in the ends of the hose assemblies to prevent oil loss and to keep contaminants out of the hydraulic system.7. Remove two fittings (11). Remove oscillating axle/operating brake valve (8) from the left hand console. The following steps are for the oscillating axle/operating brake valve.8. Check the condition of the O-ring seals that are used in the ends of the hose assemblies that connect to the oscillating axle/operating brake valve and the pilot control valve (stick/swing). If any of the seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement.9. Put oscillating axle/operating brake valve (8) in position in the left hand console. Install two fittings (11).10. Connect nine hose assemblies (9) to the pilot control valve (stick/swing) and the oscillating axle/operating brake valve in their original locations.11. Put left hand console cover (7) in position on the left hand console. Install four socket head cap screws (6) that hold it.12. Put cover (4) on the left hand console. Install six screws (5) that hold it.13. Install lever and spring (3) and socket head bolt (2) in the oscillating axle/operating brake valve.14. Install knob (1) on the lever of the hydraulic activation control valve.15. Fill the
