Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Clean the face of air inlet heater (6) with cleaning solvent. Apply Tooling (A) to the face of air inlet heater (6). Allow Tooling (A) to dry for 3 to 5 minutes. Apply Tooling (B) to the joint face and spread uniformly. Air inlet heater (6) must be installed and tightened within 10 minutes.

Position air inlet elbow (5). Install bolts (4).
Connect ground strap (3) and install bolt (4).
Connect harness assembly (2).
Connect cable assembly (1).
