If the engine is equipped with fan guards, remove the fan guards.
Loosen nut (1), bolt (2) and bolt (4). Slide the alternator toward the engine.
Remove V-belts (3). Note: Mark the position and direction of rotation if the V-belts will be reused. Never replace single V-belts. Always replace V-belts as a pair.Installation Procedure

Typical example
Install V-belts (3) onto the correct pulleys. Note: Used V-belts should be installed in the original position and direction of rotation.
Adjust the tension on the V-belts by moving the alternator away from the engine. Use Tooling (A) in order to achieve the correct belt tension. Refer to Specifications, "Belt Tension Chart" for more information. Tighten bolt (4) to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
Tighten bolt (2) to a torque of 44 N m (32 lb ft).
Tighten nut (1) to a torque of 22 N m (16 lb ft).
If the engine is equipped with fan guards, install the fan guards.
