Information:
This procedure should not require entry into any enclosures that contain hazardous voltage components and should not require any hazardous voltage connections to be disconnected. When an area that contains hazardous voltage components must be entered for a service procedure, the "Safe Shutdown Procedure for Electric Drive Tractors" procedure must be performed before any enclosures that contain hazardous voltage components are opened or before any hazardous voltage connectors are disconnected. Refer to the Troubleshooting, "Electrical Maintenance Guidelines" section of this manual. Perform the "Safe Shutdown Procedure for Electric Drive Tractors" procedure before any of the hazardous voltage areas are opened or before hazardous voltage connectors are disconnected.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear the diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Test Step 1. CHECK THE SWITCH
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position. DO NOT START THE ENGINE.
Observe the status of the active CID 2532 FMI 04 diagnostic code while disconnecting the machine harness 12 contact Resume Switch connector from the Speed / Direction Handle.Expected Result:The CID 2532 FMI 04 diagnostic code will remain active if the switch is not the cause of the diagnostic code. The switch is most likely the cause of the problem if the CID 2532 FMI 04 diagnostic code is NO longer active and a CID 2532 FMI 03 diagnostic code becomes active. Results:
OK - The CID 2532 FMI 04diagnostic code remains active. The switch does not appear to be causing the problem. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - The CID 2532 FMI 04 diagnostic code is NO longer active. A CID 2532 FMI 03 diagnostic code becomes active when the harness connector is disconnected. The machine harness and the ECM are operating correctly. The switch may have failed. Verify that the switch is not operating correctly. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE SWITCH OPERATIONThe 12 contact Resume Switch connector remains disconnected from the machine harness.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
At the 12 contact Resume Switch connector on the Speed / Direction Handle, measure the resistance (continuity) between the common ground contact 4 and the N/C switch contact 5 when the Resume Switch is not depressed and when the switch is depressed.
At the 12 contact Resume Switch connector on the Speed / Direction Handle, measure the resistance (continuity) between the common ground contact 4 and the N/O switch contact 6 when the Resume Switch is not depressed and when the switch is depressed.Expected Result:The continuity checks of the switch contacts are NOT correct according to the table at the beginning of this procedure when the switch is in both positions. Results:
YES - The continuity checks between common ground contact 4 and the switch contacts are not correct according to the table at the beginning of this procedure. The switch is not working correctly.Repair: The operation of the Resume Switch is not correct. Replace the Resume Switch.
