Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.
Rotate propel speed dial (2) to the MINIMUM position.
Move travel mode switch (3) to the PAVE position.
Move parking brake switch (4) to the ON position.

Move screed lift switch (5) to the RAISE position. Completely lift the screed.

Engage screed lock mechanism (6) on both sides of the machine.
Move screed lift switch (5) to the FLOAT position. Allow the tow arms to rest on the screed locks.
Move screed lift switch (5) to the HOLD position.

Move throttle control switch (7) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.
After the engine reaches low idle, move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position.
Remove the rear wheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR6411, "Wheel (Rear) - Remove and Install".

The motor is removed from the machine.
Remove bolt (10) from speed sensor (9) .
Install new speed sensor (9) into the motor housing. The design of the sensor will maintain the required gap between the end of the sensor and the speed ring.
Hold speed sensor (9), and tighten bolt (10) .
Install the rear wheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR6411, "Wheel (Rear) - Remove and Install"
Recalibrate the initial current setting to the electronic control module (ECM) for the pump. For the calibration procedure, refer to Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Forward Currents (EDC) - Calibrate" and refer to Specifications, Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Reverse Currents (EDC) - Calibrate" contained within this manual.
