Removing The Motor
INADVERTENT ENGAGEMENT OF THE TRACK DRIVE SYSTEM CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY. SHUT THE ENGINE DOWN AND REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH BEFORE WORKING NEAR A TRACK.
1. Thoroughly clean around the area where the motor mounts to the gear reducer or brake and where the hydraulic hoses connect to the motor. Mark the hoses for identification during reassembly. Note the orientation of the motor and hoses. If the motor is installed upside down during reassembly, it will rotate backwards.2. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and immediately cap or plug all openings.3. Attach a lifting device to the motor (about 60 pounds). If the front track motor is being removed support the brake so it will not fall, the mounting bolts also support the brake.4. Remove the mounting bolts and pull the motor straight out from the gear reducer or brake.5. Cover the opening in the reducer or brake to keep dirt out.Installing The Motor
1. Install the necessary fittings on the motor.2. Drain the hydraulic oil from the motor and refill with ATF Type F.3. Coat the motor shaft with non-corrosive grease.

4. Position the O-ring and slide the motor shaft into the gear reducer or brake.5. Tighten the mounting bolts, the bolts also support the brake.6. Clean the hose ends and fittings, then connect the hoses.
IF THE MAINFRAME IS INADEQUATELY BLOCKED UP, IT MAY FALL AND CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY WHEN THE TRACK IS RAISED. SECURELY BLOCK UP THE MAINFRAME.
7. Block the mainframe up and raise the track off the ground by moving the elevation control lever to "Lower".8. Check out operation of the motor. Move the travel control lever to forward and reverse several times, slowly increasing the length of stroke and cycle time each time. Operate the motor at a low speed for at least 15 minutes to remove all air from the system. If the track cannot be lifted off the ground, perform the motor checkout without any load on the machine.Motor Repair
